Earlier this year, I decided that I’d track a particular Pink Lady’s-slipper orchid plant from spring sprouting to flowering. It’s well known among those who study native orchids, that they can put on some fantastically quick growth. Last year (2012), they were in full bloom by mid- to late April. However, this year, we had
